Prayer for Peace in Times of Conflict / Una Oración por la Paz en Tiempos de
Conflicto
This reading reflects on the outbreak
of the Iran War in early March, which many viewed as a diversionary
war meant to dampen domestic dissent amidst massive unrest. We pray for a
peace that transcends political strategy.
Pastor: In a
month where the drums of war have grown loud and the illegal and
senseless conflict has escalated, we turn our hearts toward the promise
of a world without swords.
Pastor: En un mes
en el que los tambores de guerra han resonado con fuerza y el conflicto ilegal y sin sentido se ha intensificado, volvemos nuestros

seeking instead the path of the peacemaker who heals the wounds of the nation.

strength of our compassion for one another.

ejército, sino en la fuerza de nuestra compasión los unos por los otros.
Everyone

juntos: Que convirtamos nuestras espadas en arados y aprendamos de nuevo
el camino de la paz.

3: Let Justice Roll Like a River
Let justice roll like a river,
and wash all oppression away;
come, O God, and take us, move and
shake us,
come now, and make us anew,
that we might live justly like you.
How long shall we wait, O God,
for the day of your mercy to dawn,
the day we beat our swords into plows,
when your peace reigns over the earth?
Let justice roll like a river,
and wash all oppression away;
come, O God, and take us, move and
shake us,
come now, and make us anew,
that we might live justly like you.
Hear this, all of you who use the poor
in your thirst of power and riches:
the Lord will turn your laughter to
tears,
on the wondrous day of our God.
Let justice roll like a river,
and wash all oppression away;
come, O God, and take us, move and
shake us,
come now, and make us anew,
that we might live justly like you.
Even now return to me,
let your hearts be broken and humble,
for I am gracious, gen’rous, and kind;
come and seek the mercies of God.
Let justice roll like a river,
and wash all oppression away;
come, O God, and take us, move and
shake us,
come now, and make us anew,
that we might live justly like you.
You have been told the way of life,
the way of justice and peace;
to act justly, to love gently,
and walk humbly with God.
Let justice roll like a river,
and wash all oppression away;
come, O God, and take us, move and
shake us,
come now, and make us anew,
that we might live justly like you.

Song Cancion
4: "The Servant Song" (Won't You Let Me Be Your Servant)
Won’t you let me be your servant,
let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant, too.
We are pilgrims on a journey, we are trav'lers on the road;
we are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load.
I will hold the Christ-light for you in the night-time of your fear;
I will hold my hand out to you, speak the peace you long to hear.
I will weep when you are weeping;
when you laugh I'll laugh with you.
I will share your joy and sorrow when we've seen this journey through.
When we sing to God in heaven we shall find such harmony,
born of all we've known together of Christ's love and agony.
Won’t you let me be your servant,
let me be as Christ to you;
pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant, too.
